Duties and Responsibilities



The candidate is responsible for the design, development and execution of automated tests for distributed enterprise applications with external and internal interfaces utilizing Microservices and business automation patterns. As an active participant on a scrum team, the candidate is responsible for all aspects of quality assurance including test automation, and development of automated processes within a testing framework. This role works closely with software engineers, fellow QA engineers, DevOps engineers, infrastructure and security professionals. Flexibility to work collaboratively and knowledgeably with team members in each area is vital. The candidate documents and works to resolve problems, reports progress on problem resolution, devises improvements to current procedures, and develops models of possible future configurations. The candidate will focus on the automation for testing of the software built on a technology stack using industry standard tools. It is essential that this candidate have exceptional communication skills and be flexible and knowledgeable with technology, environment and priorities.


a. Perform and write automated functional, system, regression, and integration testing


b. Design, develop, and execute automated tests.


c. Extend and enhance existing test automation frameworks and tools.


d. Ensure test environments are prepared and ready for execution of test scenarios


e. Execute test cases to validate system functionality prior to releasing to UAT/customers


f. Work closely with engineering and QA to manage and improve the development pipeline by integrating with CI/CD tools.


g. Triage, document and perform troubleshooting and diagnosis of defects reported by customers

Lumifi is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join our organization and establish our foundational QA Team. This is a unique opportunity to build our quality assurance function from the ground up, setting the standards and tone for future QA operations. The successful candidate will design, build, and maintain automated testing solutions across our entire technology stack, ensuring tests are reliable, fast, integrated into CI/CD pipelines, and continuously evolved alongside our codebase. Primary Responsibilities
• Establish QA Foundation: Build Lumifi's QA Team from the ground up, setting strategic vision, operational framework, and quality processes that will serve as the foundation for future team growth and scaling
• Design & Execute Test Strategy: Create comprehensive test plans and design, build, and maintain automated test suites across the full stack (API, UI, Integration, End-to-End) with deep product knowledge for independent feature validation
• Integrate Quality into Development Lifecycle: Partner with Development, DevOps, and Product teams to establish quality gates, integrate automated tests into pipelines, and ensure testability is factored early into acceptance criteria and requirements
• Build Test Infrastructure: Create and manage test data, mocks, and test environments while ensuring reproducible runs locally and in CI/CD pipelines; integrate tests into monitoring, alerting, and collaboration tooling as required.

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer (SDET) with strong hands-on expertise in Java and Karate framework to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation frameworks, testing REST APIs, and ensuring high-quality software delivery. This role requires proficiency across both frontend and backend automation, with experience in BDD, DevOps, and cloud environments.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

The QA Automation Engineer will report to the Software Quality Assurance Manager. They work closely with software developers, and other members of the development team to understand project requirements and contribute to the creation of test plans and test cases. The QA Automation Engineer collaborates with more experienced QA professionals to execute testing processes, identify defects, and participate in the resolution of issues. This role often involves communication with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.

The Sr. QA Engineer must have deep knowledge in software testing methodologies, automation best practices, and software development life cycle (SDLC).

This position requires someone who is detail oriented, understands infrastructure operations, and application development methodologies.

The engineer will design and write automated scripts for functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, and regression testing. The engineer will be responsible for monitoring results, logging defects, and validation of defect fixes. The engineer will be responsible for creating a robust automation framework ensuring scalability and reusability, and for maintaining a testing infrastructure that can be applied to multiple environments. The engineer will collaborate with different teams, leverage all existing scripts and create one common test environment for all applications.
