Your Opportunity
The Senior Automation Engineer for BAS/BMS/PLC systems, guides the technical design of projects as subject matter expert, mentor, and resource to the technical team. Position delegates, leads, and directs work of Project Engineers and Designers. Role will conceptualize, execute, and ensure quality throughout the design process to meet our clients’ needs and expectations.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering practices and principles in own discipline and basic knowledge of practices and principals in other disciplines.
• Manage the complete design and scope of services for each project; review the timeline and hours budgeted; identify any inconsistencies and address them with the client and Project Manager
• Delegate the designing of engineering subsystems to team members in their discipline
• Manage and deliver the detailed design of the entire engineering system; apply extensive knowledge of building codes and standards; perform equipment selection
• Manage technical risk, quality, and avoid redesign.
• Coordinate with other disciplines ensuring all automation and controls-related work is incorporated into the design.
• Follows Stantec’s quality management process; conducts project reviews and approvals before all QA/QC reviews done by the technical authority.
• Adept at writing comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
